Highlights

  • Outfits in Street Fighter 6 are a way for players to express themselves through their favorite characters, with veterans donning their Classic attires and newcomers showing off new threads.
  • While all the Outfits in Street Fighter 6 are worth obtaining, some shine brighter than others, leaving players struggling to choose which one to rock online.
  • The Modern Outfits for characters like Blanka, Chun-Li, Dee Jay, Dhalsim, E. Honda, and Guile have all received significant upgrades, making them the preferred choice over their Classic counterparts.

Outfits are an expected and welcomed staple of the Street Fighter series, enabling players to express themselves through their favorite characters. Street Fighter 6 continues that trend by giving all 19 characters a different Outfit, with the veterans receiving their Classic attire and the newcomers acquiring new threads altogether.

However, while the choice is more than welcomed, some Outfits shine much brighter than others, while some will leave you struggling to choose which one you prefer and want to rock while throwing down with others online. With that said, almost every Outfit in Street Fighter 6 is worth obtaining and wearing, especially if you're a seasoned veteran of the series.

Updated August 1, 2023, by Seth Parmer: Our first DLC character is finally here in Street Fighter, and it is the one and only Rashid, who is just as daunting to go up against as ever and is also just as fashionable as you may remember from Street Fighter 5. But which of his Outfits fits him best? Hopefully, this update will answer that for you!

19 Blanka

Street-Fighter-6-Blanka-Classic-Modern-Outfit

Blanka leads things off and is one of the few characters who receive the fewest changes when comparing his new Outfit to the Classic one we all know and love. Despite that, the additions are all welcomed, bringing more life and personality to this beloved fighter.

The yellow bandana, overalls, and stylized haircut have Blanka looking better than ever, making us prefer the Modern Outfit to his tried and true Classic one by a significant margin.

  • Winner: Modern Outfit

18 Cammy

Street-Fighter-6-Cammy-Classic-Modern-Outfit

Cammy is next in line and is tricky as both of her Outfits have minor issues that could elevate one over the other. Her Classic Outfit is iconic and beloved by many but is far less practical than most of the other fighter's Outfits.

However, her Modern Outfit has her sporting a giant Union Jack on the back of her short jacket, but the rest of her appearance is remarkable. It can be a toss-up to many, while others will be heavily on one side, making us lean toward her more iconic look just slightly, giving it the lead.

  • Winner: Classic Outfit

17 Chun-Li

Street-Fighter-6-Chun-Li-Classic-Modern-Outfit

Up next is the one and only Chun-Li, one of the single most important characters in fighting games and beyond, who comes in hot by killing it with both her Modern and Classic Outfits. While her Classic one is even more iconic than Cammy's, her Modern one is elegant and stunning.

Chun-Li has lived a long and storied life in Street Fighter, and her new look perfectly encapsulates her current lifestyle and ambitions. Her Classic is still an all-time great, but the sleekness and execution of her Modern Outfit are just too good to pass up.

  • Winner: Modern Outfit

16 Dee Jay

Street-Fighter-6-Dee-Jay-Classic-Modern-Outfit

Dee Jay is possibly the character most affected by his Modern Outfit, giving him flowing dreadlocks and a headband to keep them in check, along with an aloha shirt that has been made into a belly shirt and stylized pants, giving him more personality than ever before.

His look wasn't necessarily bad in previous titles, but his Modern Outfit puts his Classic one to shame. This one isn't even close, and the glow-up of Dee Jay is more than enough proof for our case.

  • Winner: Modern Outfit

15 Dhalsim

Street-Fighter-6-Dhalsim-Classic-Modern-Outfit

Dhalsim is another character that received minor but much-needed changes that positively changed his overall appearance. He now rocks a long, curled white beard, has a necklace of rings instead of skulls, and ditches the saffron shorts for a sarong.

RELATED: Every Character's Story In Street Fighter 6, Ranked

All in all, Dhalsim's Classic design wasn't terrible. However, like most Street Fighter characters back in the day, Dhalsim was made up of many stereotypes. While not an offensive character by any means, we're just glad to see Dhalsim get touched up in a meaningful way.

  • Winner: Modern Outfit

14 E. Honda

Street-Fighter-6-E-Honda-Classic-Modern-Outfit

E. Honda's white and blue-stiped mawashi is as iconic as it gets, but the yukata he receives with his Modern Outfit is phenomenal, making the competition fierce. Overall, both Outfits allow you to see just how much of an absolute unit he is, showcasing his incredible strength and height.

There are many things to love about both the Outfits E. Honda possesses in Street Fighter 6, but we feel his Modern one barely beats out the Classic, largely due to how stylish and fitting the yukata is on him.

  • Winner: Modern Outfit

13 Guile

Street-Fighter-6-Guile-Classic-Modern-Outfit

Guile is another powerhouse of a character in the Street Fighter series, and who hasn't seen him in his iconic olive green tank top paired with his dog tag, camouflaged pants, and massive arms? Sure, Guile's new Airforce Jumper is cool and all, but who are we kidding here?

The winner here is unquestionably Guile's Classic Outfit, and there's simply no competition between the two. It's simple yet very effective and will be what everyone envisions Guile wearing until the end of time, no matter how good his other Outfits over the years have looked.

  • Winner: Classic Outfit

12 Jamie

Street-Fighter-6-Jamie-Classic-Modern-Outfit

Jamie is our first new character of the bunch but also receives two Outfits we can pit against one another just like the rest. His Default Outfit is a yellow wushu uniform that has been altered into a belly shirt with a capoeira belt that secures his gourd in place.

On the flip side, Jamie's Alternate Outfit sort of resembles the Gore-Tex jacket George Constanza wore in an episode of Seinfeld, making it the lesser of the two by a considerable margin. Like, seriously, his second Outfit is far less stylish than his first one. It's wild.

  • Winner: Default Outfit

11 JP

Street-Fighter-6-JP-Classic-Modern-Outfit

JP is another new character to grace the Street Fighter 6 roster but one with a fantastic fashion sense. His Default Outfit has him wear a bright red vest and dress pants combo with a white shirt underneath it along with a cape, cane, and white shoes that help tie everything together.

While this would win in any other circumstance, his Alternate Outfit is somehow even better, having him unleash a dark purple suit with a white overcoat and fedora, along with a long red scarf that showcases how impeccable this dude's style is.

  • Winner: Alternate Outfit

10 Juri

Street-Fighter-6-Juri-Classic-Modern-Outfit

Juri has been a fan-favorite character for what seems like forever in Street Fighter, making her Classic Outfit all the more iconic and memorable than ever before. With that said, her Modern Outfit also has lots to like about it, making this another tough competition.

Her biker aesthetic has been slowly drifting away over the years, making the collared leather catsuit of her Classic Outfit fit her character well even today. Her new look is incredible too, but it lacks the impact her original design brought to the table many years ago.

  • Winner: Classic Outfit

9 Ken

Street-Fighter-6-Ken-Classic-Modern-Outfit

Ken has been through a lot over the years, and his Modern Outfit is just a glimpse into that window. While we'd love to humor the fact that his new attire rivals his Classic bright red gi, it's just not even remotely close and is outclassed by it in every feasible way.

RELATED: Street Fighter 6: Every Fighter Ranked By Difficulty

His new look is grizzled, beaten down, and incredibly different than what you know and love, but seeing him back in his red gi via the Classic Outfit is like covering up with a warm blanket in the winter. It's warm, welcoming, and familiar.

  • Winner: Classic Outfit

8 Kimberly

Street-Fighter-6-Kimberly-Classic-Modern-Outfit

Kimberly is yet another new character in the game and brings the heat with both of her Outfits, making her one of the most stylish characters of the entire lot. The slim jet-black leggings, bright red puffer top, and yellow ascot of her Default Outfit are absolutely astonishing.

But her Alternate Outfit is just as excellent, giving her a more late 80s, early '90s hip-hop look with her bright red hammer pants, tennis hat, purple ascot, and wrist wrappings. While she nails both, we must give it to her Alternate Outfit here.

  • Winner: Alternate Outfit

7 Lily

Street-Fighter-6-Lily-Classic-Modern-Outfit

Moving onto another new character introduced in Street Fighter 6, we have Lily, a character that fans may find familiarity with if they've played previous games in the series. Her Default Outfit consists of a blue and white poncho, torn red short shorts, and boots, making for an excellent overall design.

However, her Alternate Outfit is a stylish and cozy orange and teal Baja jacket expertly paired with long boots and decorated pogamoggans designed to look like a bird, making it the clear frontrunner. Both Outfits are solid, but her Alternate one is executed slightly more efficiently.

  • Winner: Alternate Outfit

6 Luke

Street-Fighter-6-Luke-Classic-Modern-Outfit

Being introduced as the final character of Street Fighter 5, Luke has always been sort of a controversial character, which carried over a bit in Street Fighter 6. However, today, we are focusing solely on his two Outfits.

RELATED: Best Pieces Of World Tour Equipment In Street Fighter 6, Ranked

In general, we feel Luke misses the mark with both Outfits, but we much prefer his Alternate one simply because the colors gel together better, and he rocks the backward hat look quite nicely. Regardless, Luke has the worst fashion sense out of the characters by a lot...

  • Winner: Alternate Outfit

5 Manon

Street-Fighter-6-Manon-Classic-Modern-Outfit

Manon is one of the best newcomers in Street Fighter 6, and her fashion is equally as strong especially her Alternate Outfit. While her Default look is still remarkable at showing off her Gold Medal and blue singlet and gi, her additional attire is quite possibly the best in the game.

Her Alternate Outfit has her wearing designer shades, a puffy jacket with pink and black feathers, stylish and studded black leggings complete with a tutu, and pink high heels that bring everything home. This Outfit is remarkable from top to bottom and is the obvious choice.

  • Winner: Alternate Outfit

4 Marisa

Street-Fighter-6-Marisa-Classic-Modern-Outfit

Our last new character of Street Fighter 6 is Marisa, the freakishly strong and unbelievably strong jewelry designer that spars in a colosseum with actual lions. Her Default Attire resembles Spartan gear, such as her cingulum militare shorts and black and gold sports bra.

Marisa's Alternate Outfit, however, is a clear nod to Urien, which fans will recognize almost instantly when first seeing it. The green and red cloth, overtop the white pinstripe coat and black dress shirt look phenomenal on her, and her stylish glasses help bring home a win for it as well.

  • Winner: Alternate Outfit

3 Rashid

A look at Rashid's Modern and Classic Outfits in Street Fighter 6

Despite Rashid only making his debut in the previous installment of the franchise, his Classic Outfit is still one of the best in the game, making his Modern one have to work in order to best it. And work it did. The fabulous goldish-orange trim around his silky robe, his flowing white tunic and sirwal pants also help bring everything together.

That's not even mentioning his stylish leather, toeless boots, fingerless gloves, and shemagh, further elevating his Modern look. While his classic design is still undoubtedly excellent, the plain, black-and-white color scheme leaves much to be desired, and the random bits of tech can sometimes look out of place. Nonetheless, both are fantastic choices to rock when playing him.

  • Winner: Modern Outfit

2 Ryu

Street-Fighter-6-Ryu-Classic-Modern-Outfit

You cannot get more iconic than Ryu's white gi and red headband, but you can get something better if you try hard enough. And, 36 years later, we might finally have something that rivals or even surpasses the all-time Classic look of the OG, even if he's starting to show his age.

RELATED: Street Fighter 6: Things To Do After You Beat The Game

Ryu's new, grizzled look with his solid beard and new kasaya make him look remarkable and better than he's ever looked. While we still love his Classic look, we cannot go back to him without a beard even if we tried, and his new Outfit is just strong all the way through.

  • Winner: Modern Outfit

1 Zangief

Street-Fighter-6-Zangief-Classic-Modern-Outfit

Last but certainly not least is Zangief, the strongman of Street Fighter 6, wearing red and white wrestling tights for his Modern Outfit and his iconic red and yellow wrestling trunks in his Classic Outfit.

His new look is excellent, but there's absolutely no way we can recommend it over his Classic Outfit, especially after seeing all the intense gashes on his legs from his time spent wrestling bears and just how muscular his thighs are. Like, come on, how can you not prefer his Classic Outfit here?
