Determined to discover what truly happened, Serge eventually decides to help Kid on her quest to obtain the Frozen Flame. Chrono Cross also boasts a large cast of characters, with it being possible to recruit 45 party members. In Legend of Mana, you’re appointed with the responsibility of restoring the world of Fa’Diel to its former glory. You use artifacts that you collect on your journey to create ‘Lands’ - towns or dungeons that you can then traverse.

It’s this mechanic that drives the game forward and separates it from other Mana and RPG titles. The remaster’s delightful art direction retains the original’s charm with a mix of sprite work and hand-drawn backgrounds. If you’re looking for a different, non-linear RPG experience, give Legend of Mana a try.

The malevolent cult, the Children of Hargon, has forbidden creation, so you will have to harness your abilities to become a true builder. Alongside its single-player story, you can play with up to four others online to work together on new and creative builds.
