LOTR Draft Booster
Magic: The Gathering – Lord Of The Rings: Tales Of Middle-earth Draft Booster Box

LOTR Set Booster
Magic: The Gathering – Lord Of The Rings: Tales Of Middle-earth Set Booster Box

Set boosters are the perfect midpoint between the big pulls and fancy art styles of a Collector booster, and the more budget-friendly nature of the Draft booster. Although it does include fewer cards - 12 instead of the usual 15 - in it you can find more rares, more art styles, and even chances to find things from older sets thanks to The List.If you want to crack packs or find some good cards for your constructed deck, and have no interest in playing Draft or Sealed, then a Set booster is the way to go. Note that these packs don't have a chance of including the one-of-one The One Ring.

Booster boxes are the best way to get a lot of cards very quickly. If you want to crack a load of packs and enjoy looking through the random cards you discover while doing it, a booster box will be the way to go.

For Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth, every booster box also comes with a special box topper card from the Realms & Relics subset. These cards aren't part of the main Lord of the Rings set, but they can provide some extra spice to decks where those cards are already legal. Most of the cards are fantastic for the Commander format, however there are inclusions for other formats too, such as Karakas for Legacy decks.

Booster boxes don't come with any accessories like spindown counters, land packs, or codes for MTG Arena. If you're a brand new player coming in to the game for the first time, a booster box likely isn't what you'll want. Instead, take a look at the bundles, Commander decks, and the Starter kit to get your Magic collection going.

Tales of Middle-earth comes with a number of other products that, while not including the raw number of cards of a booster box, let you get into the game at a much cheaper price.

The bundle is a stalwart of Magic, offering one of the cheapest, yet fanciest, ways to open some packs. With a nice box, plenty of Set boosters, and even four promo cards that make up a scene of Mount Doom, if you're not wanting to splash on a whole box, a bundle is a great alternative.

While you've likely already missed the prerelease events for Tales of Middle-earth, you can still pick up Prerelease Kits and enjoy the set's sealed format at home. It's a great way to get a few Draft packs, as well as some promo cards date-stamped with the year for your collection.

If you just want to learn how to play, the Starter kit is an excellent collection of two decks, a guide on how to play Magic, and even codes to redeem both decks on MTG Arena. They're not the most high-powered decks of all time, but they'll get you started in a fun, Lord of the Rings-flavoured way.

Commander is the most popular way to play Magic: The Gathering, and you can dive right into this unpredictable and highly social format with the four Tales of Middle-earth Commander decks. You could run the Food and Fellowship deck and play with Frodo and Sam, or maybe the Riders of Rohan with Éowyn instead. Or maybe you want the Elven Council deck, and force your table to do a whole lot of voting? Last, but not least, you could command the dark forces themselves with the Hosts of Mordor deck.

Each deck comes with a foil display copy of the face card, a deck box, life tracker, and tokens, to ensure you have everything you need to play right out the box. They also all include a Collector booster sample pack, which includes two random cards, potentially with treatments found only in Collector boosters. Note that the One-of-One The One Ring can't be found in these samples, though.
