While the true purpose of Soul Coins in the game remains yet unknown, we do know that devils of the Faerûn have traditionally prized them as a valuable currency of the Nine Hells. So, don't hesitate to grab these enigmatic coins during your adventures—they're sure to prove significant in the future.

Baldur's Gate 3 is currently in Early Access, and only Act 1 of the story is available. As the game continues to develop, this guide will be updated to provide you with the latest information.

Soul Coin 1: The Druid Grove

Baldur's Gate 3 - Nadira the Tiefling accuses a drow PC of extorting her Soul Coin

To find the first Soul Coin, head to the Druid Grove (X:220, Y:420) near the Silvanus' Grove waypoint.

After helping the tieflings and adventurers repel the goblin assault, you'll be able to enter the grove freely.

Once you enter the gates, immediately turn right, where you'll come across a small log bridge. Cross it, then head southeast up a hill, following the path until you spot Nadira, a tiefling woman keeping watch with her telescope.

Baldur's Gate 3 - A bugbear stalks the tiefling lookout Nadira

She's definitely not passing those Perception checks, though, because there's a bugbear standing 10 feet behind her.

Once you get close enough, the bugbear will try to kill her. Nadira will die quickly to the bugbear's heavy blows, so act quickly to eliminate the threat. Speak to Nadira after saving her life.

Instead of being grateful, she'll accuse you of attempting to extort her hard-earned Soul Coin. You, of course, have no clue what she's talking about—but she doesn't need to know that.

Pass a successful DC 5 Deception (CHA) check, and she will eventually relinquish the Soul Coin to you.

Baldur's Gate 3 - Astarion attempts to deceive Nadira the tiefling

Do note that even if you get there too late and Nadira has died to the bugbear, her Soul Coin is not lost. You can just lift it off of her lifeless body.

Soul Coin 2: Dank Crypt (South)

The next two Soul Coins can both be found in the Dank Crypt (X:-304, Y:-297) under the Chapel Entrance, just north of where you'll find yourself starting the game.

Once you've successfully gotten into the Dank Crypt, you'll be faced with two doors. Let's start with the southern one (X:-294, Y:-310).

Inside, you'll find a grand room with towering pillars and a central coffin. The Soul Coin here can be found in one of the smaller coffins to the southwest of the main coffin.

Baldur's Gate 3 - Players find a Soul Coin in a coffin in the Dank Crypt

If you open the main coffin, you'll find a magical spear and the key to the northern door, but be careful. Opening the coffin will unleash a deadly series of traps that'll kill any unprepared adventurer.

If you'd prefer to avoid risking your neck, lockpicking or breaking the door down are viable alternatives.

Soul Coin 3: Dank Crypt (North)

The last Soul Coin can be found in the northern chamber of the Dank Crypt.

Instead, after entering the room, immediately head left (west) into a smaller room filled with coffins (X:-314, Y:-261).

Once inside, open the coffin located in the southwest corner of the room. Inside, you'll find the Soul Coin.
